FCCU Expansion Project in Big Spring, Texas

Project Summary

The fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) expansion project included the installation of new riser cracking technology, replacing reactor, reactor cyclones, riser, and feed injection system. Saulsbury also completed the replacement of main column overhead condensers, including air coolers, shell and tub exchangers, knock out pots and pumps, and all piping and instrumentation from the main column overhead outlet to the wet gas compressor suction nozzle.

Saulsbury was responsible for all E&I work associated with this large-scale expansion including pre-outage, unit shutdown and post-shutdown scopes.  Project was performed in a manner to minimize the actual unit outage to a 27 day duration.
