General Construction of 80-Megawatt Simple Cycle Power Plant

Project Summary

Saulsbury performed the general construction of a nominal 80-megawatt simple cycle power plant for a state public service company.

Construction of the project included site preparation, foundations, structural steel, mechanical, piping, and electrical and instrumentation.

Scope of the Project

Saulsbury’s power professionals installed two General Electric LM6000 combustion turbines equipped with:

  • Water injection for NOx control
  • Spray mist evaporative cooling
  • Sprint
  • Air-to-air anti-icing systems
  • Exhaust stack
  • Fin-fan oil cooler
  • Relaxed auxiliary equipment

The project began in January 2002 and was mechanically complete for the first fire in April 2002.
