Project Summary
Saulsbury performed all structural and electrical and instrumentation services for the only operating commercial uranium enrichment facility on U.S. soil. The multi-year NRC-regulated project with a 4,900-tSW/a production capacity supported low-carbon power generation markets.
The project consisted of 64 gas centrifuge cascades housed in over 750,000 square feet of buildings and containment facilities. Saulsbury was responsible for all underground and above-grade electrical installations to support power, lighting, instrumentation, security, and monitoring.
At full capacity, this facility can provide 50 percent of the current enriched uranium demand for civilian nuclear power plants in the U.S.
